Local news
The branch had a very successful RSPCA Week at the end of April, our collection in Tesco raised £1063.64. Thank you to all our collectors.
The Branch Secretary and Branch Treasurer were invited to attend the 'Wishing Well' out of school club at Alport Primary School, Malpas, on 4th May to receive a cheque for £65.00. The children had raised this money themselves and had requested it to be donated to the local RSPCA.
The Branch Secretary and Branch Treasurer have decided to step down as Officers of the Branch after nearly 20 years' service. In recognition of their loyal service they have been chosen by the national Society to attend a Royal Garden Party in July. Pam and Ken Parkes still intend to actively support the branch and stand for election to the branch committee at the AGM in June.
Royal Garden Party Guests
Ken and Pam Parkes have been actively involved with the Cheshire South West Branch for more years than they care to remember. They are photographed here prior to their visit to the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, 18th July 2006 in recognition of their many years' voluntary service for animal welfare. They have now decided to take a less active role, but remain on the branch committee offering encouragement and sharing their knowledge and experience with those trustees continuing the work of the branch. The sun shone and both had a very enjoyable day.
